18회-우바이와 우바새는 사부대중의 나머지 두 기둥입니다.

 

They shave their heads, wear gray clothes and put robes over their shoulders.        스님들은 머리를 깍고 회색 옷을 입고 어깨에 가사를 두릅니다.     This shows that they are the Buddha's disciples who vow to save all sentient beings from suffering.    부처님의 제자라는 표시이고, 수행자라는 표시며,고통을 받는 사람들을 구제하겠다는 의지입니다.        They walk and speak in mindfulness. They work together and sweep together.        스님들은 주의 깊게 걷고 말하며 다함께 울력을 하고 도량을 청소합니다.

 

     They eat meals wooden bowls. They chant and meditate.

       스님들은 발우공양을 하고 기도하며 참선합니다.

 

     They learn and spread the Dharma to make the world pure and more fragrant.

       세상을 맑고 향기롭게 만들기 위해서 부처님의 가르침을 배우고 익혀 전합니다.

 

     The other two columns are Upasaka and Upasika.

       나머지 두 기둥은 집에 머무르며 수행하는 우바새와 우바이입니다.

 

   They are lay Buddhists who practice at home. They attend Dharma meetings at temples

   and give offerings to the Triple Gems. They are the good people  who keep Buddist traditions alive.

    부처님과 스님들이 머무시는 절에 다니며 합장으로 인사하고 법회에 참석합니다. 삼보에게 공양 올리고

           불교전통을 지키고 보호하는 착한 사람들입니다.
